their Sensei. A teacher will put a great deal of time and effort into his students to make them stronger, healthier people--physically, mentally and spiritually. Despite the teacher's efforts, some students are
unreceptive. A student must be open to the help and knowledge. Although the student may not necessarily become weaker from a lack of drive, they will not become stronger either. This student does not benefit himself/herself - nor do they benefit their Dojo. If you are not serious in your endeavor, you can not gain its rewards - and it can not benefit from you either.

Even a student with tremendous drive will go astray and, at best, waste their efforts if they are not carefully guided by a skilled and knowledgeable teacher. It is the teacher who not only imparts knowledge and information, but challenges and encourages the student in their journey along the path.

When training a student to become an Instructor, a tremendous amount of time and care is put forth by the Sensei. Eventually, this student will evolve to a point where they are able to care for and teach their own students. And just as their Sensei nurtured them to a higher level, so the new Instructor will spend time and energy on their students - growing  future teachers.
